On the phone
I truely LOVE talking with my mom on the phone. We have some of the best conversations. She has been my best friend for a long time.
Now that I'm a mom with a few years of experience under my belt our conversations have changed and become even more colorful. I think I have helped her come out of her shell a bit. Very few topics are off limits. I think I have single handedly taught her to laugh at potty humor. Well.. when you've had as many years of failure at potty training as I have had I find that I have to laugh about something.
We recently had another of our side aching conversations. Topic had something to do with kids and the silly things they do. (One of my personal favorites). I often times bring up when I had the same "rational" mode of thinking. Of course.. I've always been the smartest, sanest, most rational person in the room regardless of age.
After getting off the phone I sat and wondered why can't I get a ripping conversation on my blog? I've read my blog. It's not always the most exciting thing to be alone in a room with.
I think my biggest problem is I don't have anyone to talk to. I'm great at responding to someone.. I'm horrible at starting up a topic.
I seem to have a plank loose on the bridge between my talking voice and my writing voice. I'll see if I can find it and tighten a bolt or two.
The "in box" is open for suggestions for future topics. In the meantime I need to go strap on my tool belt and find that plank.
